Post-Valentines Day

We all have experiences which are very unforgettable. In our English class this morning, Reminiscing is very important.  

Our teacher conducted an activity to see how good we are in writing. She placed a pen, diary, comb, mug, and a flower on the table and told us to use all those objects as a variable in our narrative essay.

All of us thought that it is a very difficult task, given only an hour to think of a good topic and put it into writing, however, as my classmates are bragging about the activity, a certain experience when I was still in elementary came up. It was indeed a memorable experience of mine and I decided to write about that event.

Here's the narrative essay I wrote:

Post-Valentines Day

     The clock was ticking, the birds were singing, the sun suddenly smiled and the light entered my window, indicating a new day.

      It was Monday, February 16, and everything was still the same. I took a sip of hot coffee from my mother's mug, then took a bath. Before going to school, a dirty comb approached me, I had no choice but to use it and afterwards, I sprayed perfume in my entire body.

      I was late again,  nothing new. Moreover, the annoying grade 6 pupils grabbed and took me to their classroom to help in preparing for the "Post-Valentines Day" event. "If I just knew that there will be an event like this today, I would just take a rest at home and watch tv," I thought.

     Even if I don't want to celebrate the event, they do, and it left me no choice. The day went on. The event getting successful. I noticed some girls of my age, or maybe younger, giving chocolates and love letters to their crushes. Some boys, despite the embarrassment, still took courage to give flowers, which they picked on the flower box in front of our classroom, to their crushes.

      I sighed. The day seemed so long. But a few moments later, the bell rang. At last, Mr. Sun is already tired and sleepy. I was so thankful that I can finally go home.

     I walked alone from school, hopping in the street, too eager to go home. As I arrived at home, I placed my bag at the bed, opened it, and I was shocked to find something inside. 

     A flower and a note was there, and it says:

        "Dear J, 

I'm sorry if I have no courage to give it personally to you.

I just want to say THANK YOU for being a good friend to me,

and I LIKE YOU.

                                                                                                    -A"

       I was puzzled and shocked at the same time. I never knew something like this would happen and when I don't want to forget about it, I actually write it. So,  I grabbed my pen and diary and started narrating the day's events.
