Declarations

It's been unbearable... these past few months.

People around me worried a lot about their circumstances that it also affected how I viewed my own life. I became pessimistic and I often wondered how things would have been had I chosen a different path.

Late May I received a rejection from a scholarship application. I was so devastated because I was really hopeful that I'll get in but then I didn't. I told myself after that that I would take this opportunity to improve myself so that when the time comes I would be the first choice.

I drowned myself in my own thoughts that it became suffocating. Then I recognized that it's not healthy anymore. I'm not usually this pessimistic, I used to view the world with joy and sparkles. Where did that person go?

And so I started June declaring "I AM A GREAT RECEIVER!" written in the sand while I was contemplating along the sea shore. This month, I read more self-help books in my free time, became more physically active, and became more diligent in my trading class. I also learned to celebrate small wins and not just big ones. June became a month of small wins and I did receive a lot of it.

I cannot forever drown on my negative thoughts. Everything starts with the right mindset, and I hope that I am right on track.

Excellence in the time of the Pandemic

Last year I was tapped by the student government president of my alma matter in High School to give an inspirational message as part of the school's anniversary. The theme is “Opalescent Hope: Embracing the new normal, Building Resilience, Sustaining Excellence”

Sharing this here -

                        ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today is a very special day for all of us who is and has been part of this institution, so I want to extend my warmest greetings to all of you. Happy Anniversary, AlSci! It’s been 24 years since our school was founded; 24 years of producing some of the brightest minds in the country. In all these years, we have been recognized numerous times, not just in our region nor in the country alone, but also in the world! That’s a feat that not everyone can attain so you must be proud that you are all part of this history. We have been excellent ever since the beginning, and we will continue to be.

But you must be wondering right now, how do you continue to be excellent when the world is devastated by a pandemic? When you can’t even go to school and learn face-to-face, you can’t conduct your experiments in the lab, or you can’t immediately ask your teacher for a consultation on what went wrong with your research or your project?

Firstly, you must stay healthy. Not just physically, but most importantly mentally & spiritually healthy. In these trying times, the most important thing we should be doing is protecting ourselves, not just from the virus, but also from anxiety, from stress, from breakdowns. You may have heard a lot of people say “It’s okay not to be okay. We’re in the middle of the pandemic, no one is expecting you to be extra” and yep, that’s the simple truth. Eat healthy, get enough sleep, exercise, consume news moderately, talk to your family or friends about how you’re feeling, and of course, pray, it helps a lot to ease your anxiety.

The Leo Advantage Way (LAW)

I stumbled upon Nomad Finance Girl in 2018 - she's an influencer, a serial entrepreneur, and a forex trader. Her stories always speak to me and I've wanted to meet her for the longest time to be able to learn more from her. That's when I decided to attend her trading school - The Leo Advantage. It took me a long while to finally enroll because back then I didn't have enough resources and I had a lot of other excuses. Finally I decided to enter LA last December 2020 because I wanted 2021 to be a year when I'll finally be able to start my journey to financial freedom.

Because a lot of people are looking for reviews for this school, I decided to write one to help others decide if they want to enter this trading school or not.

I want to emphasize what they posted on their website -

"The idea was straightforward: make trading accessible to everyone by making it extremely simple.

With the LAW, anyone can trade for only 5 minutes a day and without the use of any news or indicators - just the plain, naked charts."

True to their words, the LAW makes trading extremely easy. Prior to this, I had no idea of the forex market. I don't know the terminologies and jargons because I didn't study them (unlike stocks, crypto, mutual funds, etc.) For me, this is a whole new world and I am extremely glad that our mentors made it very easy to understand.

For me who is lazy and has a lot of other responsibilities, the LAW provides a convenient way to trade. I don't have to check the news or look at other indicators. The strategy that they'll teach from just looking at the chart - WORKS! Trading for 5 minutes? Nope, it only takes a minute or less. Set-up the chart, click trade, and voila just wait.

How to Adult

When I was a kid, I remembered wanting to be an adult so bad. I would always pray to God to push the fast forward button so that I can start working, earning, traveling, and eating whatever whenever I wanted. But when I finally came became an adult, I just wanted to go back to being a kid again.

Adulting does not only mean working and earning. It includes managing your life in the present while securing your future. "

Sounds easy? Haha. Yeah, right.

No one told me that adulting would be difficult, especially if you are living alone away from home. You have to take care of your groceries, your bills, your laundry, your room clean-up, your own food, and many more. It was hard starting out on your own, but it's all part of the journey that all of us would go through once in our life.

What should a fresh grad expect when starting his/her #adultingventure?
