It's a Trip to the U.S.A.~!

My busy life did not end at the same with the graduation day.

Earlier in February, as we travel to Baguio City for the 9th National Science Quest. We have received another notification informing us that we passed the ISWEEEP standards and was qualified to join the International Science Fair in Houston, Texas, USA on May 2-7, 2012.

Our teacher in Research, at the same time our coach, Mrs. Shiela P. Butil, asked the three of us if we will still pursue this one. As she said, this will be the last one and we all agreed.

Our main problem, of course, was the financial one. Eventhough the accommodation and registration is free, we still have to shoulder the airfare and the meals which were not provided at all. And so, we began our tasks to give out solicitations to different persons. Our governor, Miguel Rene Dominguez helped us, as well as Congressman Emmanuel Pacquaio. The two politicians were our major sponsors for this trip.

After finding sponsors, we began our transactions for the application of the US Visa. We already have the invitation letter provided by ISWEEEP. And there's only 2 weeks left before our travel.

We left for Manila a week before travel, we had scheduled our expedite appointment in the US Embassy on the 23rd of April, and then, mine, was on the 26th because of some system troubles. As what I've said, we were always on the last minute. We had our visa a day before the flight. Our tickets and tarpaulin printed a night before the flight. We had a very busy week in Manila. Imagine, we will just about to set off to USA and then, unexpected things occurred, as if not letting us to go. However, we all made it through.

And here's how our trip went on...

We had to stop in San Francisco International Airport for our next flight to Minneapolis, and then Houston. In there, we met Filipinos working on a foodchain called Subway. We just ordered 2 footlongs, and then we sliced it into 5 and that's already our breakfast. But then, the Pinoys, gave us one more footlong and water for free. Truly, Filipinos are always hospitable and gentle. Tatak Pinoy, Pusong Pinoy ♥

We went on our next flights, and arrived in Houston, Texas safely.

Yet, as we thought, everything's fine now but again, another problem approached us. We discovered that the Ate SV's luggage was not there, only to find out that it was still in San Francisco!

Problems. Problems. Problems.
When will they be gone?

As we were travelling going to Hilton-Americas Houston Hotel, Teacher Shy was scolding us in the shuttle van. We just shut up and admitted it was our fault that we will be delayed in arranging our display board. Our tarpaulin and other stuff were on that luggage too. (Sigh)

We didn't sleep throughout the night. After the registration, we got up with our keys, and then started doing our job. We made the photo album and arranged the plastics as well. That's all what we could do while waiting for the luggage to arrive tomorrow.

To be continued...
;)
